Movies: Mad Detective 2007 DVDRip XviD

Description:

It’s just killing me that I haven’t been able to find a DVD of the Johnnie To-Tsui Hark-Ringo Lam collaboration “Triangle” with English subtitles. Seriously, Hong Kong movie makers, is it so hard to ask for a DVD of your movies with English? Pretty please? In any case, the latest Johnnie To movie to surface is “Mad Detective”, which according to the guys at 24 Frames per Second is barely getting any advertising, even though the film is scheduled to open in two weeks time against the American vampire movie “30 Days of Night” and Danny Pang’s “In Love with the Dead” on November 29th, 2007. Fortunately we have the poster and trailer for the film.

Description:

Light Yagami is an extremely intelligent young man who resents the crime and corruption in the world. His life undergoes a drastic change in the year 2003, when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground. The Death Note's instructions claim that if a human's name is written within it, that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the notebook's authenticity, but after experimenting with it, Light realizes that the Death Note is real. After meeting with the previous owner of the Death Note, a shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become "the God of the new world" by passing his judgment on those he deems to be evil or who get in his way.

Soon, the number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira" (derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the word "Killer"), is located in Japan. L also concludes that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a game of psychological cat and mouse between the two begins.

Movies: El Laberinto del fauno 2006 DVDRip

Description:

The movie opens with a fairy tale. Princess Moanna of the Underground Realm, curious about the world above, escapes to the Earth, where she succumbs to pain, sickness and sadness, and eventually dies. The king believes that her spirit will come back to the underworld someday.

The story then cuts to post-Civil War Spain in 1944, with Francisco Franco firmly in power. Ofelia (Ivana Baquero), a young girl who loves fairy tales, travels with her pregnant mother Carmen (Ariadna Gil) to meet Captain Vidal (Sergi López i Ayats), her new stepfather and father of Carmen's unborn child. Vidal, the son of a famed commander who died in combat in Morocco, believes strongly in falangism and was assigned to root out any anti-fascist rebels.

Ofelia discovers a large insect resembling a praying mantis which she believes to be a fairy. It follows her to the mill where Vidal is stationed and leads Ofelia into an ancient labyrinth nearby. Before Ofelia can enter, she is stopped by Vidal's housekeeper, Mercedes (Maribel Verdú), who is spying and stealing supplies for the rebels. That night, the insect appears in Ofelia's bedroom where it changes into a fairy and leads her through the labyrinth. There, she meets the faun (Doug Jones), who believes her to be Princess Moanna. He gives her three tasks to complete before the full moon to ensure that her "essence is intact". Meanwhile, Vidal brutally kills two farmers suspected of being rebels. After looking in their bag it is clear that they were hunting rabbits as they had said and were not rebels.

Mobile Movies: The Chronicles Of Riddick 2004

Description:

The Chronicles of Riddick centers around the character of Richard B. Riddick from the film Pitch Black. Riddick’s Chronicles opens with a high speed chase on the far-flung ice planet of UV 6. Following the events of Pitch Black, Riddick has been on the run for the last five years, in an attempt to keep his friends Imam and Jack (survivors from Pitch Black) safe. A Bounty hunter named Toombs finds Riddick in exile, and attempts to capture him for a '1.5 million' bounty. This attempt ultimately fails, when Riddick steals Toombs’ ship and flies off towards the planet Helion Prime, in search of Imam. In some versions, during transit Riddick is plagued by visions from a character named Shira, who tells Riddick that he is the last of a warrior-race known as Furyans.

When Riddick finally does land on Helion Prime in the Islamic District of New Mecca, he confronts Imam - demanding to know why bounty hunters were sent after him, in addition to why Jack is missing. Imam concedes that Jack went looking for Riddick several years ago, and ended up in jail on the planet Crematoria. Imam goes on to introduce Aereon, an air elemental, who arranged for Riddick to be brought to Helion.

Mobile Movies: The Fog 2005

Description:

The backstory of the film is somewhat similar to the original film: In the late 1800s, a group of men conspired to mislead and murder the crew of the Elizabeth Dane, a clipper carrying a group of lepers seeking sanctuary. The Dane was captained by William Blake, a wealthy man infected with leprosy who made an agreement with the town's founders to buy half of the island for a leper colony. However, when the islanders' leaders meet with Blake onboard the Dane to make the purchase, the islanders double-cross the lepers, loot the ship and then set the ship on fire, slaughtering everyone onboard. In this film, the town of Antonio Bay is preparing to celebrate a new statue dedicated to the "founding fathers" of the town. This awakens the ghostly crew of the Elizabeth Dane, who have sworn revenge on the town for what the "founding fathers" did to them. Again, while it is not explained, the presence of the ghosts is announced by a large fog bank.

The Wendell Baker Story is the first movie directed by actor Luke Wilson and his eldest brother Andrew Wilson, which premiered at the 2005 South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas in March, 2005. To inspect it, she talks a reluctant Pikul into accepting a bio-port in his own body so he can play the game with her. The results lead the pair on a strange adventure where it becomes impossible to tell if their actions are their own, or the will of the game, and impossible to tell if they are in the game, or in the real world.

King Of California LIMITED DVDRip XviD

Michael Douglas is such a great dramatic actor (not to mention villain) that it's worth remembering what a strong comedic performer he can be (War of the Roses, Romancing the Stone). In King of California, he digs into his offbeat lighter role with relish and vigor. The plot follows Charlie's single-minded, impossible-dream journey, while the world-weary Miranda is resigned to following ("Time to get on that old bipolar pony and ride," she mutters). But along the way, dad and daughter find true ways to reconnect, and therein lies the true majesty of King of California

Meet the Browns (2004)

Description:

This play, to be completely honest, was one of the funniest that I have ever seen in my life. I just can't stop watching it. It is a hoot! Not only is it funny, but it ends with a very positive message, just as all of Tyler Perry's plays do. It is amazing when you can mix comedy with Christian themality in order to portray a positive message here.

Essentially, after "Pop Brown" dies, the dysfunctional Brown family comes together to plan his funeral. Through planning his funeral, many different problems and issues arise within the family including a lonely woman who ends up finding love, a woman torn up inside because of her murdered child along with a husband whom she has tensions with, a husband who has cheated on his wife, and three sibilings as well as the whole of the Brown family who in the end discover the importance of family. I won't reveal anymore about the play because I want you to discover it and discover the wonderfulness of it for yourself. Believe me, this play is a keeper as well as the other ones in the Tyler Perry Collection.

Bad Company iNTERNAL DVDRip XviD
